Leonore Annenberg Diamond Sells For £4.6m
The stunning 32-carat diamond which was previously owned by Leonore Annenberg, who died in March earlier this year, a billionaire philanthropist and widow of widow of publishing tycoon Walter Annenberg, was sold for an unbelievable $7.7m (£4.6) in Christies Auction house, New York. The initial valuation price was between $3m – $5 m and was designed by New York jeweler David Webb.
The emerald cut diamond, which is flanked by two sparkling pear cut diamonds, won the approval of the Chairman of Christie’s Europe and international head of jewels Francois Curiel who praised the diamond for combining the best of the 4Cs.
The buyer was not identified, but one thing is for sure, someone is going to become a very lucky owner of a truly amazing example of a diamond at its best!
