Fancy Brown Diamonds
If you like all the sparkle of diamonds, but want something a little different that won't break the bank, then chocolate diamond jewelry may be the answer. Up until 2000, colorless diamonds were considered most valuable and coveted - those that appeared clear or white. In a few cases, very rare colors, such as pink or blue, were also considered valuable, but those with a brown color were viewed as low-class. All natural color diamonds are ranked on a scale of 1 to 9 for their depth of color. In 2000, Le Vian, one of the world's major diamond manufacturers, began marketing its brown diamonds that were in the C-4 to C-6 range as "chocolate diamonds".
